Afterwards it was time to head back to the dorm for my interview with the paper. The guy who wanted to interview me actually didn't come until 5pm when originally we had scheduled for 4pm. I don't mind, I'm easy. I wasn't sure what to expect this time. He came in with just his phone and explained that the school was doing a special paper for their 61st anniversary and they wanted me to be in it! This is super cool!
He was nervous about his English, but I thought he did fine. He turned on his recorder and asked me some questions he had already written down. Things like "why did you come to Korea" and "how was adjusting to Korean life?". I definitely made sure to praise God when I had the chance. Honestly, he's the reason I'm here and I'm starting to become comfortable with making that my main answer whenever anyone asks me. Why am I here? Why do I like Korea? I don't know. God put it in my heart, and here I am doing His will.
It was a relatively quick interview, probably around 10 minutes. After that was done I had to head to dinner before badminton class. I would have gone with Heavy G to dinner but he got caught up with a student and told me to go ahead. I was fine, I had already asked Nathan if he wanted to eat dinner with us and he was on his way over.
When I got there I was first so I ordered and sat down. When I sat down, 2 of the K-PACE center teachers came in and wanted to eat with me. I don't get to see them much and of course I wasn't going to say no. Their English isn't as good as the RA's so it was a bit difficult. Especially when Nathan came in, I felt bad. What a strange situation, 2 female K-PACE teachers I don't talk to often, and my buddy Nathan all at one table, and I was the main link between English and Korean with my horribly broken Korean. Things ended up going pretty well though. There were some conversations across the table but we mostly just ate.
It was time for badminton after that and I had to get to the soccer field quickly. Heavy G ended up coming just at the right time and picked me up to take me to badminton. I got there and headed over to the field. I ended up talking with one of the female RA's most of the time which was really cool. I love getting to know the people here, they are all so nice.
It was back to the dorm after that and time for blog! Today was rather uneventful, but this upcoming week promises to be a good one! Thanks for reading!
Check out this weird picture I found as I was trying to convince An Hyo Sang to get chicken with me. |
TL:DR I am blessed.
