So, we're at the observation deck and a couple comes up to me and asks me to take their picture. Of course I say yes and give them a few good ones. They're sitting on one of those benches that's broken in the middle (those seem to be everywhere). The next stop was the gift shops at the bottom of the tower before heading up. Here's what happened:

Yes, this happened |

This is my "I'm smiling but I really wanna kill you" face |
I really wanted to try to get a video of how big this tower was all in one, but it didn't turn out all that well haha, oh well. Hopefully the next picture brings back some memories from your childhood. If it doesn't, well I can honestly say that you didn't have a good childhood.

DIP N' DOTS! |
OMFG they're still around! Except of course they're called something in Korean, and not actually dippin' dots or however it's spelled. I was happy to take the knock offs and jam them greedily in my mouth.

Only 10.5k km to home |
|
This might be my favorite pic of the entire day, that wall is amazing |
|
A giant bridge over the Han river into the city that I had to try to get a pic of, didn't turn out too well |
|
Taking a picture of this seriously triggered my fear of heights, this is almost as tall as the tower itself |
All of these were taken from the top of the Namsan Tower or N Seoul tower. We spent maybe an hour or two up there just looking around and talking. That was a really cool experience.
We realized we had to get moving if we were going to stay on the timeline. It was time to go to 잠실 (Jahm Sheel) to see the ice rink! I was super excited for this, I was finally going to get to see where the national team played, and maybe get some information on how I could work with them, or even help with a youth program. We saw a few cool things on the way.

Lotte World |
|
Lotte basically owns everything here |
|
롯데 백화점 (Lotte Department Store) |
Welp, I clearly didn't communicate what I wanted well enough haha. We got there and I was stunned. In a good way though. This was obviously where they had the figure skating competitions and possibly the short track speed skating for the Seoul Olympics. You hear so much about how Olympic facilities just rotting away that it was awesome to see how they morphed this into a giant mall/theme park.
|
Had to chill for a quick snack (free parking with a purchase) |
This place was giant, so many good food stores. Surprisingly (or maybe not) a lot of them were American. I wasn't going to have time to make it to 이태원 (Itaewon) for dinner. (Yes that is like the super party place in Seoul where all the foreigners are) I was sad I missed it. So we grabbed some dinner in an Italian bistro at the mall. I ordered some 곱창 (Gob Chang) baby octopus pasta, and some ricotta cheese wraps. I was pretty surprised at how good they were. As many of you may know I am NOT typically a baby octopus type of guy.

Korea keeping up on their political spectrum |
|
Tell me what's wrong with this pic |
|
And this one too for good measure |
|
Uhh...baby octopus |
I was honestly too tired to take any pictures of my room, but trust me it was nice. I'm gonna cut it again here since that was I can combine the next day with heading back home and the things we did when I got home. That should catch everyone up to Thursday night. Thanks for reading guys!
